Globalization did not suddenly start in modern times, but rather has been evolving since the dawn of transportation, driven by the need and desire to trade goods and information. However, with the exploding development of communications and transportation technologies, their increasingly rapid deployment around the world in recent times, and the ever-present appetite of global companies for new markets, these key enablers have accelerated exponentially this phenomenon which we now refer to as Globalization.
